Coco coir has a fibrous and spongy texture, and is an excellent growing medium for plantsmade from the fibrous husks of coconuts.

Coco coir is a by-product of the coconut industry and is produced by grinding and sieving the coconut husks to remove the long fibers, which are used to make ropes and mats, leaving behind the shorter fibers, which are used to make coco coir.

Itis commonly used in gardening and agriculture, particularly in hydroponic systems and as a soil amendment. It is also used as a bedding material for livestock and in the production of mushroom substrates.
